Vacationing in the Algarve - activities not to be missed

The fact that Algarve cable It is such a popular vacation destination for vacationers from Europe and all over the world, guaranteeing that you can find attractions suitable for every budget and every travel style. There is everything here, from high-cost activities for vacationers in luxury resorts, to extremely cheap group workshops. Activities adapted for children (because they deserve time off too), extreme sports, belly-back, day trips with amazing locations to take pictures for Instagram and also shorter activities of a few hours until lunch.

Let's get started with a sample (really small) of the almost endless possibilities for fun and enjoyment in the Algarve region, which can spend you a whole day of fun and enjoyment without feeling like time is moving anywhere.

Dolphin watching

It will be hard for you to avoid it. Probably in every marina or dock around the Algarve, you will see advertisements offering you a cruise to the heart of the ocean (or at least far enough). Many of these trips offer a variety of experiences (have you ever wanted to go deep-sea fishing?), but the truly unique experience, which you will have a hard time finding in Israel, is dolphin watching.

This is not a rare phenomenon, since the beaches of the Algarve are home to large schools of dolphins (mainly bottlenose dolphins and common dolphins), so the chances that you will not see them are very low. In addition, the curious nature of the dolphins attracts them to the boats full of tourists, which leads to the fact that shortly after the cruise you can see dozens (!) of dolphins chasing you and playing in the water next to the boat.

If you decide you want to witness and are ready to invest, the really serious companies of these observation boats will have a marine biologist on board, who will explain to you about the life of the dolphins. This is such an intelligent and sociable animal, and one that almost never reaches Israel's shores, that it would be a shame not to take advantage of the opportunity and learn about it as long as possible.

Water parks

More in the framework Vacation in the Algarve with children (Although adults will also enjoy a cruise alongside dolphins), there is no doubt that at some point you will look for another water park to spend a few hours, or a whole day. Luckily for you, the Algarve region offers a wide variety of water parks, some of which compete for the title of the best water park in Europe.

Slide & Splash water park in Estombar It is the largest in Portugal, and one of the largest in the entire European continent. You will find 16 slides of different sizes with huge pools, and almost eight dunams of grass intended for picnics and sunbathing for those spending time in the park.

Aquashow It is a water park located in the town of Quarteira, and is intended for adults and particularly brave children. It boasts several extreme slides that are not for the faint of heart, including the highest slide in Europe, which rises to a height of 32 meters (as high as a 9-story building!).

Zoomarine Algarve water park Characterized by a slightly different concept, as it presents a wide variety of aquatic animals and live shows throughout the day. You will of course also find various facilities, including a wave pool, an artificial beach and pools of various sizes.

golf

In a place where the world's elite and the wealthy of Portugal vacation, it is no wonder that you can find a developed golf infrastructure adapted to the population that spends its vacations in the area. The Algarve is not unusual in this respect, despite the fact that until the sixties the game of golf was not heard of here at all. Today, however, it is one of the hottest destinations in Europe when it comes to golf. Here you will find the best routes in the world, services adapted to every budget level, and maintenance at a very high level.

Since this is a very large geographical area, the supply here is huge. In each region of the Algarve you will find over forty courses, operated by more than thirty golf clubs. That's why it doesn't matter which part of the Algarve you choose to vacation in, you can be sure you'll always have a golf course close at hand.

If you are looking for specific recommendations, we can name (as a representative example only) some excellent golf clubs located in different parts of the Algarve region. The first is Oceanico Club, located in the town of Vilamoura (Vilamoura) in the center of the southern coast of the Algarve (quite close to Faro). Not far from there you can also find two state-of-the-art tracks, belonging to To Quinta do Lago Club. This club is located in the area between Valmore and Faro. In the west of the southern coastal strip you will find the Palmares Club, which is close to Lagosh. On the way to or from it you can visit the Mercy Point or Camilo Beach, mentioned above.

Those vacationing in the eastern part of the Algarve, close to the border with Spain, will be able to play on the courses of Quinta da Ria Club, adjacent to the town of Vila Nova de Cacela.

Cruise along the coast of the Algarve

You can find this activity in almost every marina you come to, and in the Algarve there are countless of them. You can choose the length of the cruise, the route, the town and cities between which you will sail and the information you will receive during the cruise. Different cruises will focus on different topics, so it is recommended to make sure that the cruise you board is suitable for your group, the nature of the trip and the budget.

An example of a cruise that many will be able to enjoy is the cruise between Albuferia and the town of Benagil. It is a three-hour cruise between the two destinations, during which you will sail along the southern stretch of coast between them and be impressed by the beautiful beaches, the dramatic rock formations and the caves and caves that the ocean has carved into the limestone. Many of the yachts operating this route will stop for you at the famous cave called Algar de Benagil.

It is recommended to check in advance what the cruise includes and prepare accordingly, so that you will not be disappointed. Some of the cruises include entering the water (optional of course), in some they will give you food and in others only a small snack or water, etc. In the end, you will be able to find service providers for almost any level of cruise you want, starting with a basic cruise that does not include any ancillary services, and ending with a luxurious experience that is customized for you.
